Thorpe Park Resort is a theme park located in Chertsey, Surrey. It is the UK's most thrilling theme park with a range of rides for thrill seekers, including the UK's tallest and fastest roller coaster, Hyperia. Thorpe Park uses the Merlin Ride Access Pass system to accommodate guests with access requirements.

Applying for a Merlin Ride Access Pass
  1. Apply for a Nimbus Access Card at https://app.accesscard.online/apply/access-card/

  2. Once accepted, download the Merlin Ride Access Pass app

    IOS: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/merlin-ride-access-pass/id6755305025

    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.merlin.rideaccesspass

  3. Register on the app using your Nimbus Access Card ID number (six digits) and answer the questions on the page

  4. Once you are registered, you will be assigned either a Yellow or Red Access Pass. Red users must be accompanied by at least one guest when riding attractions, Yellow users can ride unaccompanied. Both colours can prebook for themselves and up to three guests.

Pre Booking Your Visit
  1. Head to the home page on the app and select 'Thorpe Park' under the 'Prebook your Visit' heading

  2. Select the number of people who will be accompanying you during your visit

  3. Select the month you wish to visit

  4. Select the date you wish to visit. If the date is grey, it is either sold out or unreleased

  5. Click 'Confirm Reservation' to make your booking

  6. Your prebooks will show up on the home page under 'My Pass Bookings'

Please check the Ride Access Pass Allocation Calendar below to see what dates are available to book.

Cancelling Your Visit
  1. Head to 'My Pass Bookings' on the home page

  2. Select the booking you want to cancel

  3. Press 'Cancel Visit' at the bottom of the page

  4. Your booking will be released back into the system for another group to use

Changing Your Visit Date

Under the new ride access system, bookings can no longer be moved. Instead, it is now significantly easier to cancel bookings in order to make a new one.

On the Day of Your Visit
  1. Head to 'My Pass Bookings' on the home page on the day of your visit

  2. Select the correct booking for the day of your visit

  3. Click 'Check In'

  4. When you wish to ride an attraction, select the ride from the list

  5. Enter the number of guests who will be riding

  6. Find and scan the correct ride QR code, this will be located at the entrance to the RAP queue

  7. Once the QR code has been scanned, a countdown will start that is equivalent to the current advertised wait time on your selected attraction. This countdown will not be visible yet

  8. Once scanned, your name, picture and RAP details will appear on the screen for staff to verify before you are allowed onto the ride

  9. Click the 'I'm done riding' button on the screen once you have come off the ride. This will return you to the list of rides and show you the countdown for the time you must wait before reserving your next ride

  10. If the ride closes or you spend longer than expected in the Ride Access Pass queue, the timer will be cancelled and you will be able to reserve your next attraction without waiting

  11. If you change your mind before riding, you can choose to leave the queue which will cancel the timer and allow you to pick a new ride

If you have any more questions about the Thorpe Park Resort Accessibility, please fill out the form on the home page.

Locations of Ride Access Pass entrances

To find the locations of the Ride Access Pass entrance, we would recommend downloading the Thorpe Park app. Along the top menu on the main page, you can scroll along to find the 'Ride Access Pass' filter or the 'Step Free Access' filter, which will show the locations of the Ride Access and Step Free access entrances.

Alternately, we have a full guide with descriptions and photos of the Ride Access Pass and Step Free Access entrances to each ride.
